Thanksgiving 2016 — Filling The Void
Carta de duelo, compartida públicamente, semana de Acción de Gracias de 2016, tras la muerte de un amigo de toda la vida; recuperada en 2026 de un archivo personal de correo electrónico.

In my travels I've learned to deal emotionally with family/friends with a "Out of sight, out of mind" mentally. In order in focus on what I was doing because of where I was at. So consumed with daily distractions the speed of life feels accelerated. It becomes a way of life in order to focus on tasks/chores or we would all be overcome with worry.
But when you have a genuine connection with another person it creates a union of energy harnessed by love and treated with care. That life source helps feed your soul and is apart of your growth. So when that life source is taken away from you, you can't breathe. A life line has been severed, an energy that is so intertwined within your soul, that it feels as if a part of you has died with their passing. You no longer feel complete, you have a void.
Its within these moments of loss, that we have opportunities to make a conscious effort towards taking deliberate actions during our healing process.
It's easy to succumb to negative thoughts and assumptions during our grieving period. The anger & questions can consume our thoughts which sends most into depression. If we allow those seeds of doubt, jealously, and intolerance to burrow in our minds we inevitably create a garden of angst. We've seen the crops that fester and thrive in that environment and yet we continue with the same behavior.
What if you make a conscious decision to nurture your wounds with the same gentle love, care, & understanding that our departed had? What would that look like? Imagine being rebuilt with their compassion & joy for life. With conscious intent we can visualize our regeneration with positivity, light, & love in line with our previous source. If it's going to take time to heal these wounds, with no set recovery date, let us take charge of our rebirth. Our soul needs to recover from this tragedy, how we choose to replenish our void directly affects our future crop.
It is our duty to our departed to tend our garden well, so our future harvest is bountiful for generations to come.
For me, Peter Garcia's passing has exposed the truth of "Out of Sight, Out of Mind, but Always Connected by Heart". This new reality can be helpful if I use our heart connection to see you in my mind.
Peace, Blessings, Light, & Love to all the faces that make me smile when I close my eyes!
