Every ceremony in this book was built from a real one. I stood at the front of thirty weddings and five funerals as an ordained Reverend — after twenty-one years in the U.S. Coast Guard taught me what steady looks like when the water isn't.
I wrote it because the person asked to stand at the front is usually alone with the asking — a friend, a new officiant, a chaplain's stand-in, handed the biggest moment of someone else's life and no structure to carry it with.
